Block Report Radio Interview wit’ Chairman Fred Hampton Jr

The Hip Hop War Report Correspondent Minister of Information JR of the POCC: Block Report Radio interviewed Chairman Fred Hampton Jr about the importance of the “POCC’s Long Live the Legacyâ€? as well as the 40th Anniversary of the Black Panther Party. The tour had many stops including Oakland, Berkeley, San Francisco, and NYC. Chairman Fred goes on to explain the strategy behind some of the organizing that the Black Panthers were doing like the “Free Breakfastâ€? program and the stop sign campaign. He talked about how he, like Tookie Williams, grew up in a climate where “you could either a boy scout or a bangerâ€?, not a freedom fighter, in the absence of a freedom fighting organization like the Black Panther Party, which gave the people the vehicle to fight back in our own interest. Chairman Fred says that he dedicates his life, as well as the life of the organization, the Prisoners of Conscience Committee, to making sure that nobody in our community has to grow up in that climate again.

He related how the Black Panther Party’s mission was to demonstrate for the people, so that they could take up the campaigns to fight in their own interest such as the street sign campaign in the 60’s, and he related it to how right now in ’06, youngsters again started getting hit by cars on that same exact corner in North Oakland, and in the spirit of the Black Panther Party, the people took it upon themselves to create stop signs where they thought that they should be. This special episode of the Hip-Hop War Report PayShir(www.payshir.com)  (www.myspace.com/hiphopwarreport) links with J. R. and the Block Report (www.myspace.com/blockreportradio). J. R. interviewed world renowned hip-hop journalist Davey D. www.daveyd.com as he reports on the "Net Neutrality Act" in congress. This is a bill that will give major music and other media conglomerates such as phone and internet companies the power to regulate the speed of artist websites, search-engines and music downloads sites. This is done as an effort to control music on the internet much like the way it is cotrolled on regular terrestrial  and mainstream radio.

The Block Report is a radio show that's dedicated to spreading information about the struggle. These are not studio journalists. J. R., the Minister of Information, is constantly in the streets bringing you full coverage of our soldiers in the struggle. From Shutting down a press conference of congressman Bobby Rush, to Fred Hampton Jr. speaking in Watts. The Minister of Info is right there on the front lines.

    Highlights from this episode:

Davey D. discusses how internets speeds in many other countries including South Africa and Beirut are 50 to 100 times faster than in America.

Davey D. talks about congressman Bobby Rush and the "C.O.P.E. act" Also how the music industry, media and telecommunications companies are working together to stack the deck against indie artist and other competitors
